The Best Way To Cook (Almost) Any Cut

Beef Short Ribs covered with dry ranch seasoning and cooked in a slow cooker

This has by far been our favorite and easiest way to prepare some many of our pasture raised Flourish & Roam meats. This method works on thawed (preferred) or frozen meat cuts.

Along with your F&R meat you will need your favorite crockpot. One that is 6-Quarts fits our standard 2lb roast sizes great. I also opted for one that has a low-high temperature setting and timer which will automatically kick to warm so you don't have to stress about not being home.

1. Set Cook Temperature on crockpot to Low for 8 Hours (thawed) or High for 10 Hours (Frozen). Place your meat in and add 1-2 tablespoons of REAL butter-not margarine- on top. I get mine from a local creamery.

2. Add 2 tablespoons of a dry ranch seasoning on top. Homemade ranch seasoning mix shared by my friend @jenaochsner is our favorite. Look for this recipe available next week.

3. Cover - Cook - Walkaway

4. I usually temp check my meat (food safety scientist here) to make certain its cooked throughly. After its cooked I take my wooden spoon and the meat just falls apart.

Thank you for sharing – can you tell me where you purchase your butter?
